ABOUT LIZZIE

Picture
Lizzie grew up in North London as a promising classical cellist, and riding horses was an occasional summer treat. She loved it so much that she entered the WH Smiths “win a pony competition” hundreds of times each year (to no avail).
In the early 90s,
having left music college, discovered the rave scene and travelled in India, Lizzie discovered Shiatsu and Chi Kung by chance, taking up a free place on a training course. “I was hooked immediately, I loved the solid relaxed grounded feel to it, the stretches, the breathing – it felt like what I was meant to do.”

Over more than 30 years, Lizzie's personal Chi Kung practise has deepened and expanded within her.

She went on to train and to practise and eventually to teach and has never stopped learning and adding to her skills. She has worked with Shiatsu and Chi Kung in private practise, addiction services, care homes, on beaches,  and in clinics.

In 2009 after living on a boat with her then husband and young children, and sailing from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean, Lizzie moved to the Chichester area, rekindling her childhood love of horses. She soon found that the happiness associated with her new hobby (and childhood love) wasn’t connected to riding correctly, but was about how it felt just to be around horses.
With this realisation, Lizzie left the traditional riding route, taking her 3 (now ex) riding school horses with her!
She explored various types of natural horsemanship and horse philosophies, adding a diploma as an Equine Shiatsu Practitioner to her qualifications.
Lizzie realised that she was searching for a missing connection, between how she felt when practising Chi Kung and how she felt around horses. She found her answers with Equine Facilitated Therapy.
She trained and qualified as an Equine Facilitated Human Development Practitioner with IFEEL and hasn’t looked back.

Lizzie is currently studying towards a diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling.

A long way from her urban beginnings, the girl from North London is currently living in a beautiful house in West Sussex
